Cecily attended the annual training conference for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals in Houston, TX this week. She was grateful for the opportunity to expand her knowledge base with regard to therapeutic courts.
Over 5000 attendees from across the country, including the Skagit County Drug Court team, spent four days attending various presentations on topics such as public safety, medically-assisted treatment options, secondary trauma for practitioners and diversity and inclusion in therapeutic courts. Cecily is excited to bring this valuable information back to the office to share with her colleagues as they strive to constantly improve their work on behalf of their clients.
In addition to the professional development gained at the conference, Cecily was thrilled to be able to spend a few days in Texas as her extended family on both sides hail from the Lone Star State. She joined the Skagit Drug Court team in watching the Astros beat the Red Sox and took full advantage of the diverse cuisine, indulging in Viet-Cajun crawfish, brisket, kolaches and as many good ol’ TexMex enchiladas as she could find.
